Best way to learn a game is through playing it - im sure after a few games ill come up with what i need to make an army that works correctly.

Ok Yukimura, 1st off: that was hilarious. And creative, I like both things. Which, sadly, brings me to point # the 2nd:

I hate to say it, but I've gotta play "moderator" every once in a while. Here you have to refrain from things like cursing, and even though you changed the spelling of the much maligned "f-bomb" (much to your credit) we have to call folks out on that sort of thing. This isn't a warning or anything, just a heads-up on Reaper MB rules and ettiquette. I thought it was cool, hilarious rhyme. But just watch the language in the future, ok?

  I actually played the Elves last night and did pretty good against the Crusaders of all things.
To tell the truth, the Crusaders made a tactical error and allowed me to shoot down the Battle Nuns. Also Ironraven (with his 'Big' Special Ability) stuck out pretty good.

By "pretty good" he means "schooled". I screwed the proverbial pooch against those elves last night. And ther litany of my tactical failures during that match is long and shameful. Lord Baasen, and those crazy Archers and Deathseekers, whooped my Knights and Nuns but good.

The first incarnation, the one i thought up during work, was ALOT more explicit - i did my best to tone everything down without deteriating the flavor.

elven rap...you told me about this. honestly, i see the elves being the ones listening to new age or pop40 or techno. they are not rap types. that misnomer goes to the orcs. or to the overlords.

my advice on the army:

take a sergeant with a full troop of vale archers.
replace one of the X-Y numbers with a special hero like nimrodel or someone with a bow if possible.

take a solo centaur

take a mage with fireball, healing...

and a unit of ELVEN NEENJAH!!!

the elves, well, i see handicappign the elves so they can be better archers as a not so cool thing. i tried playing archer heavy forces in other games, but the archer lightness rules screwed me, that, and my lack of outright testes. i look at the bullorcs and the reptus and other archer goods from Warlord and i smile.

if you play elves, play like it's the alamo and you're all davy crocket!

or do yourself a favor and go for evasive street melee/aircombat patrol/mageness

this is so off topic but i love it.

Reptus: No hairmetal. that is more orcish. we would be the slipknot /system of a down crew if any or, we'd listen to J-metal or Kodo and Gocoo. or carribean steel. or GWAR.

Dwarves: they'd be the modern rock crew or the alt metal band group, though in many cases acid rock and the stuff you'd listen to in Vietnam (old heavy metal, not the oldies).

Overlords: being the closest you get to being an actual pimp in taltos, we get the rap award. or the industral award. (VNV nation for crusaders though, or the upcoming malvernis sublist possibility) they might also listen to GWAR.

Good news about taltos: less halflings. those are the country crowd there, and they dont play with the hard boys in T-zone. (have you ever heard a heavy country song anyway/ i haven't and ive heard too much country in my time)

talking about elves, the darkspawn would have undeniably the heaviest and most insane taste. were talkign Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth. Cannibal Corpse and Messugiah. heck, they might taka a mix machine, get the audio tracks from 100 porn clips, record flaggelations and bone snapping in progress, mix it in with the repeated female droning voice: "you're going to die and you're going to like it" and call it music. that's why i fight them. share the same path my mass!

to put seriousness on this post: vs darkspawn...be sure to take magi and hard melle defenders vs. them. they have lots of stuff that can eat elves. you might wanna take a giant eagle or treeman for their uberdemon crap....

ignore the Devourer, you can kill it at leisure once your real threat is gone.
