Really liking how the leather on Scarlett (can't get that out of my head now...) turned out, and that lining around the eyes is a great touch.

Now you've got me wanting to paint up my copy Wrath of Ashardalon ^_^

The skin looks much better. I'd add a few bits of darker paint to your the most heavily shaded parts of the yellow and some to the hair (controlled washes or glazing) before you start to reclaim back to your base coat.

very nice! The shading is well done. The hair could maybe use a bit of highlighting- a drybrush orange or bright red would work well just at the tips. Red hair also tends to have darker areas at the part and roots. You can add some lightened yellow (yellow-white) to the blouse on the breast/edges of the folds to lighten it and add contrast. Excellent eyes! The leather looks very realistic on the boots. great work!

oh, you mean I can put stuff here?  cool!  now to think of something...

Should I darken the flesh at all? Most of the light was coming from the top so the picture is a bit deceiving, but it's all a single color right now. I didn't want to throw some color on there and ruin the whole thing. I'll do a little bit of work tonight, then try to take a picture from the front with better lighting.

Yes you should and use the photo as a guide as to where you want to add the shade. If you don't have specific skin shades just mix some reds and browns to get what you feel looks good.

I personally use blue-grays and reddish flesh for shading but that requires a bit more time and more blending.

I added some darker colors to the shadows and creases of the shirt and face. I also did a little bit of touch-up.

The transitions on the shirt are harsh - I didn't thin my paint enough. The face is much better - I did several very thin layers, building up to a medium brown.

Next up will be smoothing the shirt and lightening the washed areas.

On the camera side of things, it decided to go with a completely different white balance, probably because I stuck a sheet of white paper behind the miniature this time.

The harsh transitions are fixable. Look up feathering on youtube if you want videos but basically go over the edges with your base doing a hash \\\\\\ then back over with your dark like ///// repeat again with your base then use a wash\glaze (very thin) of your base coat and go over the whole thing--you may need to do the wash\glaze more then once.

Ok, I think I might be done. I softened the transitions on the shirt, and added highlights and details. I think the only thing I really have left to do it color her lips a more natural color. I'm hesitant to mess with them at all, since they look okay (if the wrong color) now and I don't want them to look like "3 year gets into mommy's lipstick".

People who are better than me: anything else I should do on this mini before I call it finished?

I decided to call her done.  Finished her base and posted pictures here.

What about eyebrows? >.>

I didn't realize it until later, but a bunch of my early minis don't have eyebrows. I realized it when I was editing the pictures for posting. People look weird without eyebrows.

Hmm, excellent point.  She should definitely have eyebrows.  Live and learn, I guess.
