Ok, I am not being fair. I actually kinda liked the movie. It was a popcorn munching piece of fun. When I saw that Patrick Kieth had sculpted up the gals for Reaper I know I had to get them. The bases are from Champs Bases and the power armor is from the now defunct AE-WWII game.

I paint minis, because it keeps me out of the strip clubs!

Nice paint jobs, good job capturing the look of the chicks. Sucker Punch is the only movie I can say I loved and hated at the same time. The dream sequences were awesome, the rest of the movie was awful.

Yes. That's why it's important to think of it as live action Heavy Metal. As soon as you do that, then it's suddenly okay it makes no sense because your mind just immediately surrenders the idea of trying to make it make sense.

Just pretend that the first scene in the movie before the actual movie was an animated short of an astronaut flying back home in a 1950's convertible hot rod with a glowing green orb and everything after that is just peachy keen.

Anything else and you'll just wind up feeling like you watched a foreign rip-off of Inception made by a person who hadn't seen Inception but had read about it in a badly mistransliterated summary titled Super Crazy Inside Story With Heart of Star Imagination Dance Witch.

Buglips, that is just epic, and so very wrong.

Haven't seen the movie

If you can find all of the dream sequences on YouTube then that's all you need to watch. The rest is filler.

The retro-fantasy stuff from the trailers? Awesome. I won't begrudge anyone who is a fan of the characters or settings in those (sadly brief) segments.

The movie experience as a whole? Soul-crushing, dirty, filthy, made me feel sick for sitting through the whole bait-and-switch monstrosity. Or, in other words, thumbs down.

If ever another movie comes out billed as "from the makers of Sucker Punch" I'll know to stay away.

(Gasp! End rant.)

But, my gripes aside, those ARE great figures, and the bases look awfully sharp. ;)

Just to give another perspective I enjoyed the entirety of Sucker Punch. It is an action adventure wrapped in a drama wrapped in a crazy dream sequence. I also have no problems with the ending and wish more US movies would not just give the hero everything at the end.

By the way hunt around on YouTube the Action sequences all have prologs as well and the Dragon Fortress one is pretty cool.

I agree with ObsidianCrane because his response is what I was trying to come up with, but my brain box filler wasn't cooperating. I should probably rewatch the movie.

I didn't think 50233: Grace, Holy Assassin was from Sucker Punch, I thought she was inspired by Top Cow's The Magdalena (with a sword instead of a spear).

Yeah, the brothel "construct" felt like a mental coping mechanism for the ahem abuse by the staff. It was also a method to make the situation more palatable to the less creeptastic movie viewers until the fridge logic clicks in. IIRC Vera Gorski even hung a lampshade on that right when the Hospital transitioned to the brothel for the first time.
