That is legendary. That's something I'd do. Reaper gets me, they know me, they're inside my head.

Lots of space in there if they want to set up a second production facility.

Oh nos! Don't go in Buglips's head! It's a trap!

... On the other hand he'd probably rent the space for minis.

Maybe.

Definitely for Partha Paints.

FranktheDM sent me a notice that he found some in a store's discount bin, and I contacted them to ask what they wanted for all of them.

I got a reply that was like: "well, a lot of the colours are repeats, and fluorescents, and we can do up a list of colours you can choose from, and . . . "

And I was like: *holds up hand* "I don't think you understood me, sir. I want ALL of them. I don't care what they are. ALL of them."

Outside of a dog. Reaper is a gamer's best friend.
Inside of a dog it's too cramped and sticky to wargame.

Sacrificing minions: is there any problem it CAN'T solve?

Beowulf ll. 1538-1543
... Pay no heed to proud thoughts, famous champion. Now the flowering of your strength is but for a while. After a while, the time will suddenly come that disease or the sword's edge will cut off your power. Either fire's grasp or flood's surge or blade's bite or spear's flight. Or vicious age, or the flash of your eyes will gutter and burn out! It will be all at once, great campaigner, that death will overpower you.

It's terrifying!  Without enough caffeine your body undergoes these hours of partial paralysis and hallucinations! :shudder:

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike ...

lined with minis beyond the dreams of avarice!

Those pictures give me a vibe like a hardware store or an art supply store, that sort of everywhere-you-turn inspiration.

Thanks for sharing!

You mean you didn't want to go before?

Now I want to go to Reapercon.

If you come, I'll sit down with you at some point and we can share an adult beverage. Not share, as such. More like, you have one, I have one.

My hubby made me a deal that if I stick with this hobby I can go to Reapercon 2015. Soooo far away...,

Seems excessive negotiate for 2013. Tell you will paint a mini just for him.

I've always sort of half wanted to go, but not seriously. I've been registered as a forum member since 2006, but it's only recently I've gotten involved - and that in rather substantial fashion!

I've always loved Reaper, though there was a rough patch in 2008 and I made posts on this board that make the stuff on the cloud giant and paint sets threads look like genteel conversation over tea. Frankly, I was a gigantic jerk (so bad, in fact, that the entire thread was ripped and put private). Looking back it does seem rather a silly thing, and could have been handled much better - certainly on my end. I stayed away from here after that, but Reaper was still awesome so I bought through intermediaries. Completely at random I showed up in August, made one post on the Kickstarter thread, and got swept away in the enthusiasm.

And that's when I really started thinking that this forum, and this company, are more fantastic than I thought. That this was, in fact, the best board I'd ever been on (and I've been on many) and literally filled with superb people. I wanted to stick around, and be part of it, and now we seem to be a good fit.

Before I was just a customer, but now I feel more like I'm part of a community - and a great one at that! So now I'm thinking something like Reapercon, well that might just be something incredibly awesome. And if Bryan wants to share a drink, well that's one damn fine compliment. Bring Clark along, and I'll buy the first round to make up for being a jerk back in '08.

Heck, prolly nobody even remembers that. But I do, and a goblin always pays out a debt to make things even. That's written in the Book of Snotrag the Slimy, our greatest scholar.

I'm in the middle of painting my second mini ever, so I understand his caution. He's a gamer but not into minis. I think he's regarding this as my midlife crisis hobby.

It's worth it just to drool over the painted minis in the display cases. But meeting names that you've seen on blister packs since you were a kid, is perhaps for me the highlight. And if you like renaissance faires, the Scarborough faire is running at the same time: http://www.srfestival.com/. It's an easy drive and definitely worth the trip

To follow-up, it seems like I understand Reaper better now. You know how we say it looks like a bigger company than it is? Well, that's true. And there is an easy temptation to think of them as "faceless corporation" when in fact they're anything but.

And the funny thing is, I should have figured that out long ago anyway. Many years ago I ran a small press comic book company - which I'm certain none of you have heard of. It was enough to make me briefly locally famous, and we had a pretty-looking web presence. We looked much bigger than we were. And you know, I used to get piles of submissions in the mail from people all over the world who wanted us to publish them - never realizing that there was nothing we were doing they couldn't do on their own. We were just two dudes scribbling some stuff and using office supplies creatively.

Now granted Reaper's working on a much larger scale than that, but it's still a pretty small team. And, moreover, they aren't faceless. They actually, genuinely, care about the company, its products, its service, its customers, and the hobby.

And I never really saw that until recently. (This did, actually, make me feel rather guilty for previous bad behaviour) Now I know where my minis come from, and I know that even though each cast I buy wasn't made specifically for me and was part of a batch - the person behind the process really does give a damn.

I want to meet these people face to face. And tell 'em "thanks". Thanks for the gorgeous metals, thanks for supporting the hobby, thanks for being cool and being Reaper.

I think I may have become a fanboy, but I also think I'm pretty cool with that.
