Yeah! There are some eclectic themes that could be used like "adventurer's day off", "villain finds love", and "monster tames a human pet". There is a lot of fun to be had

As far as categories go, a third option (in addition to scenic base and diorama) would be a unit. Judge for overall theme, coordinating colors, individualism amongst unit members, etc. It's kind of like a diorama (multiple figs), but no extra scenery-fu necessary.

Ok, well, I probably shouldn't have brought it up as it's off topic for this thread but I do apprecate the comments so far. Maybe I should just start that thread now, since I did bring it up, so people can funnel ideas there.

It's Friday the 12th!

That's not as ominous as Friday the 13th, but be inspired to work on your Halloween contest entry anyway.

Yeah but tomorrow will still be "the day after friday" the 13th, so it all works out. Sorta.

Can a miniature with a decorated base also be used in the diorama competition?

For instance, Mini A is part of my overall diorama. Mini A is also removeable and has a decorated base.

umm...Hadn't thought about that. I think I'll need to consult Lastman on this and get back to you.

With 12 days to go, I'm glad I asked early so that adjustments can be made if necessary. I have a back up plan for the decorative base if I can't. ^_^

After discussing it we're not going to allow for the same miniature in both categories, you'll just have to choose one.

That works! I'm just glad I asked in advance b/c I doubt I'm the only person who considered this approach to try and make multiple deadlines. ^_^

Yep, running a convention killed me getting my ghost done, and my mini is POing. I'm not liking my ghost right now.

Well, I got some stuff out and started an entry. Now, can I finish it?

Some people thrive with deadlines (like my wife), I on the otherhand like to have everything done and sorted out well in advance. :upside:

I'm both combined. I start out well ahead of time but always end up getting finished right at the last minute.
