Ok I'm sure there must be a thread on this somewhere, but ----- I can't seem to find it and posts in those big Kickstarter threads are buried under a weight of massive posts ;)

So just a generalist question on if anyone has used these cases, how good they are, what kind of models you've transported etc.....

(ps also what's better 2 cases or a 1 case and Sophie????)

Really depends.....Are you a Sophie collector? Do you like Patrick Keith's sculpts? Cases will always be there but the Sophie is only being made for the KS.

While I've never used a ORH case before I've seen their bags & they are top quality. I would expect these cases to be the same.

Thanks for the input on their bags ^^

As for the model, well I'm no Sophie collector and whilst the novelty factor is enticing its more the fact that I get a model this side of Christmas that is attracting me to getting her. £100+ isn't small change and - well - its an investment in a purchase that is a good half a year away (7 months IF they make the March deadline).

I've preordered one of their Battletech bags, hoping to have it in about a month. I will post a review once I get it.

Sophie is a limited edition pin up. If you paint for the fun of painting her / displaying her / selling her, go for the Sophie. If you prefer to game with the minis you paint, the case is probably a better deal. A succubus on a motorcycle has few games to actually use her in.

I really don't understand the big deal about cases and foam. You can get a nice large toolbox or a military deployment style "gorilla" or "tuff" box for roughly $30 or less. I love the gorilla boxes myself because you can sit on them and they have cupholders and are stackable. Additionally they have wheels.

You can then head out and either get some comfy foam or egg crate foam from your local department store for roughly $15. Cut out the foam to fit your box with a hobby knife, get some cardboard or card stock from your local craft store ($5), glue/tape the foam to both sides of the cardboard so it has some stiffness (so that you can put entire armies on the "tray" and handle it without issue), and then your done. Literally $50 for a case that can survive military postal handling (which is god awful rough), carry all of your minis, and if you're a cheapskate like me, is an extra seat for when your friends drop by.

And did I mention it's got CUPHOLDERS!!! That in itself makes it worth getting.

Any links to places you can buy these 'gorilla' boxes in Canada? Having zero luck on google right now.
Every society rests on a barbarian base. The people who don't understand civilization and wouldn't like it if they did. The hitchhikers. The people who create nothing and don't appreciate what others have created for them. Who think civilization is just something that just exists and all they need do is enjoy what they understand of it - luxuries, a high standard of living and easy work for high pay. Responsibilities? Look for "truck boxes" in the automotive section of your local Walmart. Or where you would look to buy a footlocker/trunk.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

Just wanted to see if anyone has ordered AND received anything from Outrider recently? I purchased a couple of the foam trays to go in my old reaper cases on August 12th, and I have yet to receive any information from them, other than the confirmation of my order. I have called them at the number provided on that invoice and left a voice mail, and since that voice mail did not state the company name, I emailed two different email addresses that I have found for them. I am hoping that they are just busy, but I am getting close to the deadline to file a case with PayPal if they are not going to provide what I ordered.

Thanks,
Crutch

So there are reviews online for his stuff. And they are notorious for not talking with the customer.

Does anybody else find it odd, by the way, that the information age has led to language becoming an oblique and imprecise tool where even the most straightforward phrasing is pored over with chicken entrails and bone tossing to divine the true meaning?

What other company's cases or bags do people around here commonly use? I'm curious. I'm in for a QH case myself and giving another away, but I'm also considering making another case on my own--either initially by buying a box or perhaps making one out of wood.

I have a a couple of Reaper transport cases, not sure what the parent company is but they are nice. Zipper side flap, mesh pocket on the lid & a shoulder pad on the strap. I also have a couple of the new "gun case" cases as well. One I have as a paint holder & the other is pretty much not in use.

I also have a Sabol Army transport but it's the older style (no zipper strap on the side) + no shoulder pad.

I have some random GW, VCR, etc. boxes that I cut some 1/2" (?) thick foam to fit into. The miniatures inside are sammiched between the foam, and a rubber band goes around the box. I haven't moved them outside of the room, but they've been fine for over 20 years.
