Well over in The Miniature Training Diet (For Us KickStarter Peeps) thread I said I would be furiously painting and rather than create a whole lot of threads as I painted stuff, or try to have a work in progress thread I figured I might as well have a single thread for stuff that is essentially speed painted in an effort to get my shelf of shame trimmed down to "reasonable" in preperation for the arrival of the craziness that is the Reaper KS.

So here is the start:

Games Workshop Lord of the Rings Orcs, 2 of these were painted when they first came out, the rest were finished tonight, though I might do some more touch-ups on the skin to pull the highlights up more. Big thanks to MamaGeek for mentioning using Purple to shade the green skin, its hard to see in my dodgy iPhone photo but it made a big difference to the look of the minis when I hit them with a wash of Violet Shadow.

P14041D: Little Death
This miniature is a familiar, but I inteded to use him as a Pixie Fighter or Avenger for 4E DnD.

I love adding shades to my shadows and highlights. Purple with Green is always good!

They are looking good! I'm just taking photos with my iPhone for now too, until I get a handle on my fiancee's fancy SLR.

I can't wait to see what comes next! ^_^

First post updated with better pictures of Little Death.

Next miniature completed; Bones Ghost.
The base is from Secret Weapon Miniatures, and is a 25mm Beveled Edge Hollow Blank. To fit the Ghost base in I had to trim it a little but it was easy with the Bones material.

Ravenloft Skeleton, the other two are being painted by my daughters and this is their example (though as it is finished its a little in front of them as they are up to doing the wash).

Painted - base coat Maiden Flesh, Wash with diluted black wash, refresh deep shadows with careful application of black wash, paint highlights with 1:1 maiden flesh:pure white, paint extreme highlights with 1:3 maiden flesh:pure white.
