So I am going through the Chronoscope figures looking for Shadowrun surrogates. I found some great stuff like Vermina for a Rat Shaman. I am looking for a Human Male Dog Shaman. I have the dog "spirit" already in the form of the pug familiar. What do you think of one of the Zombie Hunters? The one I am leaning toward is the Black Mist, as I might use the Shadow to inspire the character. I am looking at deckers, street samurai and a couple "normal folks" for victims. I have some in mind but would like some input before I buy.

We always used figured from a wide variety of sources, but from Reaper I'd look at:

50002 for a street sam or thug
50004/5 all the NOVA figures
50024, 50176, 50232, 50228 for street gang chicks
50040
50043
50044
50046
50065
50071
50133
50160
50170 and 50260 as Chinese corp/triad chrs
50178
50187
50191
50210

Also, don't forget the regular DHL line. I think 3093 would make a good shaman, too. And 3229 is a great modern punk figure too. 3547 works well in a modern setting.

You might want to look at Rezolution or Infinity for potential figs.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

The local game store still has a some of the old SR figures but these are bikers, monsters and deckers. I plan on using the Kickstart Sophie as a biker to go with what I can buy local. Thanks for the ideas so far. It looks good for some additions to the set.

And then there's this beauty in the Reaper preview gallery:

It's the only figure in the gallery that isn't already a sculpt -- but hopefully it's on it's way!

I love that guy. I hope they do more non-SR figs!

Wargames Foundry's 'Street violence' range, and the Copplestone Castings and Em4 'Future warriors' are good sources of civillian, armed civilian, paramilitary and irregular military/mercenary characters for 'ten minutes into the future' sci-fi. So if you're looking for non-augumented types, they could be worth a look. Hasslefree is also good, if somewhat expensive, but really useful for their various 'bits' like pulse rifles and the like. They also produce the Grymm, some businesslike futuristic dwarves, who're a mile away from the 'short beardy Vikings - In Space' stereotype, and have obvious applications in Shadowrun.

- Be warned though, that the Foundry offering's level of surface finish is rather rough compared to Reaper.

Oh, oh, if you want near-future guys with guns, check out Pig Iron Productions! Really very cheap! These are quite chunky modern style 28mm, but they're for wargaming. So, lots of troopers with rifles, SMGs, and so on. Trenchcoats, uniforms, and heavy body armour abound. I have a bunch of the Kolony Militia. They're not Reaper, but they are good, chunky sculpts.

Pig Iron

Heresy do a bunch of crew, security, techs, and gangers. They're a smaller, slimmer 28mm, but with fantastic variety. Definitely worth checking out. I have a Heresy giant spider and it's ace.

One I don't own any of but with some interesting stuff including sci-fi monsters and exo-suits, is Iron Wind Metals' VOR line.

EDIT: bits for conversion, I have never bought from them, but their offerings look good: maxmini: http://www.maxmini.e...=index&cPath=12

Tch, how could I forget Heresy. . . .

You really, really have to look up their trenchcoat gangers. Just, if you get any, try to resist the urge to name their leader 'Spider'.

Thanks, glad you like him. Yes, Caine is definitely a Shadowrun troll; he's been one of my SR toons for going on 20 years now. He was pushed back a little, but the latest looks like a December release.

If you want to see more not-SR characters, I suggest you (that's the collective you - everyone reading this thread) pop over to the thread for Chronoscope Minis We'd Like to See, and start posting your character concepts. I'd love to see more characters end up there. :)

Yep, although after looking at Hasslefree's site I think I have found the motherload of futuristic Shadowrun dwarves.

That troll is yours? He's awesome.

Yeah, he's my DYOM from the RCon 2011 auction. I'm thrilled with Wayne Reynolds' concept art for him, and I'm sure I'm going to be equally pleased with Bobby's sculpt.

Now I think I need to go dig up a few character descriptions of other old SR toons, and add them to the Chrono wish list. :;):
