"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
John Stuart Mill
English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

Never could get into Shadowrun. Pure Gibsonian cyberpunk? Sure. Fantasy elves and orcs? Absolutely. A mix of the two? Blech. Just my opinion, tho... I've known them what swore by it... but I never could suspend my disbelief enough.

Shadowrun is surprisingly cool if you just accept that it's D&D with guns.

Naturally, he died because a wizard exploded.

While I would have preferred to have played R. Talsorian's Cyberpunk, the group I joined up with (when I still played RPGs) was already into Shadowrun. While our group acknowledged the mystical elements we played it a little more chrome than magic. Though the magic element made for some good story hooks. I'm probably not going to contribute to the kickstarter, but will most likely play this when it goes live.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

Sadly, it looks like at this rate it might not see the light of day.

But then Shadowrun Returns was wildly successful.
