My husband got a job with a crazy fast turn around from hiring to start date. We'll have had about a week and a half from the time we found out until he starts. Because of this, we're kind of scrambling for a place to live in Seattle (we're currently in Minnesota) and are looking for any leads, hints, tricks, tips, or suggestions to help us on our way. We've been exploring Craig's list, we've sent out numerous requests for information to places that cater to short term housing (though, because it was after business hours on Friday, we haven't heard back yet), we've looked at hotels (currently appears to be the best option) but thought that maybe one of the wonderful people here on the reaper boards just HAPPENED to know of something that could help us. Thanks in advance for your help!

Let me check with my sister. She manages properties in Seattle and was a former real estate agent in the area.

When we moved to Seattle a few years back my wife did here searching online, looking at schools and such that was important for our situation. We ended up in Federal Way/Auburn renting a townhome. It will depend on whether you are moving in to a house or renting or getting an apartment, all the options are part of a search. I ended up using Mass Transit to get to my job downtown, which worked very well. The place we moved in to actually had a web cam to see what we would be moving in to. We made all our arrangements on line before we left Houston (our home at the time).

We're quite excited. Needless to say, with having an entire apartment to pack up and haul out, we've been quite busy, but progress IS being made. It's amazing how much stuff we've decided just isn't worth moving (my friends who are kind enough to help pack the truck will have quite the selection of goodies to choose from).

Welcome to the neighborhood! We just moved to Tacoma last November (well, I moved, stayed in an extended stay through November, found a place and moved in in December, then moved the family up in Jan). Definately open for some Reaper familiarity if you happen to attend any events, hit game shops, etc. I just exchanged some emails with Meg!
