I was trying to think of an easy but cool-looking sculpt to hone my skills on, and my mind was soon set on SMTIII's Demi-fiend. With no shirt, form-fitting pants, and a physique that's fit but not bulging, I figured he'd make decent anatomy practice. I'm having trouble deciding on a pose. This pose is iconic, but I don't quite like it. I was thinking of a pose similar to the following four frames from the intro to a Fiend battle, which are captured in two images.
1 & 2
The only problem with this pose I can think of is that it could make an already difficult paintjob, what with the tattoos/markings, even harder.
I figured you might be able to help me decide on an aesthetically pleasing and functional pose. I'll post my work, even if it turns out as garbage. In that case I can find out from you what made it garbage and how to make my work less awful.

Go to DeviantArt.com and search for Poses. You'll get a lot of good (and some bad) pictures of people in diffeent poses. It is very helpful when trying to figure something like this out. Not sure how old you are, but if you turn off the nudity filters you will also get nude poses which can be very helpful for getting things right.
