I've been working on organizing my minis. A few weeks ago I put up a cork board and Ive been slowly bagging loose minis and pining them up with ones still in the blisters. I think I seriously underestimated how many minis I have. I think this is about a fifth of my collection. I'm going to need a bigger board. Lol. I don't know why but I prefer not to keep them all in a foam case, although thats where most of them are at the moment. I would like to get where I only have the painted ones in it.

How do you all organize yours?

Ive got three under-the-bed storage containers packed solid...
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

That is a great idea. I use plastic boxes with compartments that I bought at a big camping/sports store. I think they are fishing tackle boxes. I use taller boxes from the same product line to store my reaper and vallejo paints.

I have what used to be an index card filing cabinet, each drawer is 5" tall, 6" or 12" wide (depends on if the partition is still there) and about 2 1/2 ft deep... and its full :/

I have a couple of those large plastic tubs.... but they filled up two or three years ago, even with regular painting so right now I have blister packs in boxes in a pile in the corner.

I also have a notebook in which I have written down, sorted by maker, each figure and model #. It's easier to check that than dig through the bins.

For my unpainted minis I have a Reaper Army pack, five of the grey plastic cases, something like eight box set boxes and one of the new plastic Reaper cases the mouslings came in, all stuffed to the gills with metal - some of the slots have five or six figures packed in them (which sort of reminds me of some kind of bizarre Twister convention, lol) while other slots are packed full to the top with stacks of weapons, familiars, bases, and leftover bits from figures/sets I no longer have. I also just recently went to Staples and picked up two small racks of these little plastic Really Useful Boxes with snap-on lids and loaded them up with some of the loose stuff on my painting table. And I still have about two dozen figures in various stages of painting/conversion/sculpting on the table. Then there's the Shoebox of Stuff I'm Never Going To Get To, which houses all those minis I bought just for sheer curiosity or simply to steal one part from or have concluded without a doubt that I have absolutely no intention of ever painting them.
And yet, I pretty much know exactly what's in each box and can completely recall the contents of each one by picking it up or perhaps looking at one of the minis inside. My brain just works that way...useful side benefit of a 146 IQ, I suppose, lol.

I also have a shadow box hanging on my wall of old painted minis from my Testors hobby enamel days, but I almost invariably end up painting minis to give away to other people so I actually only currently possess something less than a third of the total mass of metal I've purchased over the years.

I would post photos of Steve's hobby room.... but I'm not entirely certain that there hasn't been a crime committed in there and the body(ies) just haven't reanimated and writhed to the surface.

So...what is this orr-ga-nii-zaaa-shun you speak of?

Ummm I have boxes around my house with various loose minis in them..

+ I have a giant metal & wooden shelf that are loaded with primered minis, kinda sorta into the lines they came from. Since 95% or higher of my minis are Reapers, kinda easy to do.

Actually since most of my purchases lately have been the Boneyard at ReaperCon (always back to '05) I've started to use bead/jewelry bags for my minis.

This topic really depresses me. I had to finish off my garage so that I could move the minis out there instead of being piled in my home office and the spare bedroom.
