Hello again everyone! Well, here is Mousling # 2 of 3 that I am painting for some of my co-workers. My friend requested a purple cloak, a white beard, and stars on his hat; and I was able to do all but the purple cloak (I looked at my paints decided I didn't have enough purples to make that an easy request to fulfill). I'm really glad she asked me to do the stars, though, as I ended up having a blast painting the hat, and it gave me enough confidence to try a little freehand on some of my other minis.

Anyway, without further ado, here he is!

Unfortunately, given time constraints and whatnot, I had to rush portions of him, but I'm still pretty happy with the results. Thanks for looking and let me know what you think and what needs work!

I can't tell you how much I love his cloak. Your shading with purples kept the purple request brilliantly, and the blending is smooth and the colors are interesting and grab the eye. Nicely done!

Stars and moons... classic. I want that hat IRL.

Thanks very much for your kinds words, everyone! I'm very glad everyone seems to enjoy the hat as much as I enjoyed painting it. ::):

I've never really cared for the mice minis, but after seeing yours I'm really tempted to get a few. :) Excellent free hand btw. ;)

Thanks! I actually never figured that I'd end up painting a mousling. I mean, they are pretty cool and cute, but my queue of minis to paint is normally too full of more serious minis. However, when I needed a few "smaller" minis to use as gifts, these guys fit the bill perfectly. I was wrong about them being easier to paint than a "normal" fantasy mini, though, since their exagerated features require subtle blends over larger areas.

It is a cute figure. I like the acorn on the staff. Yellow stars on his hat look very nice. I would paint the hat more bluish, but that's just me. I'm pretty sure that you made your friend happy. : )
