I finished painting this guy a while back and have just now gotten a "good enough" pic of him to post. I'm not 100% happy with the photo, but I'm working on resolving the issues I have there.

In regards to the paint itself; on this mini I was attempting to focus on the skin and clothing, trying to get my blending to work out. Not so much the NMM.

I would LOVE feedback! What's working, what's not?

Awesome shading! My only crit would be the color of the leather next to the color of the skin. Should have more contrast IMHO.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

For example, his chainmail skirt isn't working for me, but I can't place my finger on it.

Maybe a teensy bit of titanium white on the sword... the highest highlight for max contrast.

The chain mail groin guard looks evenly lit... maybe a dark glaze on the parts "where the sun don't shine."

Face is great. Leather part of the helm is great. Reds are great---that's hard for me.

Actually there is not much to pick at. The reds are super and even though you said the NMM was not what you focused on, I really think you did a great job there. The sword is awesome. If I ha to pick a few things I would agree with you about the chain mail and I also agree with Baphomet69 about the skin next to the light leather. I believe the issue with the chain mail is it is Flat. I would add some black wash into the recesses of the waves in the chain mail and bring some of the highlights on the extreme tip of the waves in the chain mail with pure white. As for the leather, I probably would have gone with MSP oiled leather then used a darker brown for shading and some slight highlighting with a medium tan similar to MSP tanned Skin. I really do like what you did here and I would be happy to have him as a part of any orc war party! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for all the input :) Very valuable information that I will be taking with me into the next mini from the same line.

I've uploaded different views of the same mini so the sides and back are visible.
