Hah, I hit the link and posted in the wrong (2011) board. Thanks for bringing this up for the summer Inarah, and I hope there proves to be enough interest. I don't have enough capacity to run an exchange right now, but I would be happy to participate if it gets off the ground.
Shogan, a figure exchange is an event where people get together and agree to paint a miniature for someone else by a certain date and then produce and mail it to them. In return the also receive a miniature. It can be a lot of fun, especially when everyone follows through. You can review the older posts on this board to see some examples.

I would like to be included also. I'll paint a mini for someone by a certain date and mail it to them.
Single curmudgeon with own brush and paint seeks only aesthetically pleasing models for base coating, high lights, shadowing, and more. Will strip if necessary. Are you primed? PM me now.

That sounds really fun! I'd totally be game. Does it matter your skill level? I mean I'm not awful but I don't compare to some of the others here.

I would like to join, but I am hesitant. We need a good commitment on people who are sending out. More than once, I have not recieved a mini, while sending one out.

OK, so far we have six people. That's enough to start. On June 31 I will go ahead and assign partners. You will have until the end of July to paint a figure and get it in the mail. I really hate chasing people down so I'm glad to hear folks are feeling really committed to this. :)

I was hoping for a 'before Gencon' finish. Do you guys think 30 days is not enough time to complete 1 figure? Would Sept 1 be better? I don't want to chase people off with a short time limit, but we don't want it to drag out so long folks lose interest and drop out.

I would like to get in on this, but I don't want to make the numbers uneven. That kind of makes it hard on someone, since they would have to do 2 minis. If you are looking to even out the numbers, just let me know and I will shoot a PM out with my information.
