I drew my inspiration for this mini from Magic: The Gatherings Scaled Wurm from the Ice Age expansion. This guy has been sitting on my painting desk for well over a year again. Finally finished him up 2 weeks ago. Not my best work. But good for table top gaming which is what he'll be used for. I did do some research on dragon eyes and used what I found for his. Other than that I took the color scheme from the MTG painting. Thanks for looking!

I really like this, esepcially your use of your color palette. And the underside scales texturing is perfect. It has a great depth of values. =)

First of all, great job on the dragon! The color choice is spot on. ::):

Second, your Tuilin mini that you used for size comparison is really great too! I painted one up a while back but am not incredibly happy with her, but your mini makes me want to try again.

Hey thanks for the nice compliments folks. I really appreciate it.

Cro: The scales are based with Citadel Astronomicon Grey, washed with GW Badab Black, then I re-establish the grey and highlighted up to white from there.

Kuro: I went with a classic AD&D color scheme for her. Silver hair and medium/tan skin. I don't remember what blues I used though. Probably some Ceramcoat Pthalo blue and a dark blue wash. Then went in with black to get the deepest shadows. Then re-established the Pthalo blue and worked my way up until I liked what I had.

The scales pattern is great, I like the interaction of the warm red/orange scales with the bleu/purple ones.
The eyes are also very sharp but the horns would benefit some smoothing.
Too bad you didn’t take more time preparing the joints before painting.
