Here is my interpretation of Tyree Spellsinger. I would like to give my idea on how I cam up with the color scheme, but unlike a lot of you all, I do not really plan anything prior to putting paint to a mini. All I say when I picked her up was a Red gown. From there I saw the green Crystal balls. I thought the black hair, staff, and boots would look best with the red so I tried that. For the base, as I kind of do every base, I started with a platform the mini could stand on, then just started adding green stuff and and other materials until I thought it looked good. Tyree was about 8 hours total work. Not bad for a figure that will go up on eBay. The photos did steal some of the bluish gray highlights out of her hair and away from the edges of the red, but I have to live with that as long as i have the camera and set up I have. Anyway, hope you all like her.

6/22/12 - Well, per the suggestions, I worked on the skin and pictures and here are the results.




I think they are better, but there are still things I want to work on for other miniatures.

It's a nice color scheme! I like the globes as well!

(If you have a bit of a more neutral background, you might be able to retrieve some of the blues in her hair.)

Thanks. You may be correct about the background. I will see what i can do. If I find a background that works better I will post more photos.

The green orb effects are gorgeous, and I love the vibrant reds. I really like the raised rocky base and little tufts of grass; how does one go about creating those?

Wow, nice. I'm liking everything. The gems are exceptional (wish I could do those half as well as you).

One small critique is the right leg. The shading seams kind of forced as there should be some highlights on the knee in the first picture (even if it's just a mid-tone) and there's a really messy blend right next to the knee in the same picture. In the third picture the shading and highlights just don't seam right either, should be less shade in the middle of the thigh as as that should be where light is hitting and it makes the leg look concave.

Thank you. The Grass is just Static Grass you can usually purchase where you buy your miniatures and Scenic Glue. I put a drop of glue, shake up my can of static grass, pull a pinch out and drop it on the glue drop. I let it sit for a little while until the out side starts to stiffen then I use a tooth pick to push the grass into the middle of the drop.Once Dry I fluff the grass a bit. I am sure there are different techniques out there, but that is how i do mine.

Thank your for the comments. I see what you are looking at and some of it may be the how the lighting is hitting it, but I did notice that my shading was a little darker than I wanted, so I glazed a few coats of my mid tone that had a touch of the highlight color in it to soften it up. I took a few more photos with different backgrounds to see if I could minimize the lighting effects. I will try to get new pics up soon.

Thank you for the comments I see what you mean about looking like a vampire. Since that was not my intention, I tried to correct that a little by softening up the lips some and removing that dark shadow on her chin. I also made her eyes a little larger. Those changes help some, but her expression still looks a little like a vampire ready to bite, but it could be that I made her look like her boyfriend just broke up with her. I think she's a little upset.

When I mentioned Vampirella I was thinking of the comic book heroine. Her lips looks perfect and now that you corrected her chin she looks even more feminine. I was more thinking about her costume and hair style. Google Vampirella you’ll see what I mean.

You did an excellent job and the new pictures looks good.
