I haven't painted anything in about a year, so my brush muscles are really out of shape. I decided to do some small critters to liven up our D&D games. I photographed them outside, but the camera still decided it needed flash, so they look a bit shinier than they really are:

Our GM was cackling last night when I left them at his house. Is that a bad sign?

Think the scorpions themselves look great. But, the bases need finishing of some sort, even if its just adding desert sand.

Both sets of Bugs look great. The scorpions are my favorite, though I do agree with Stubbdog about the sand. It would really put them in their element if you added that.

For sure your GM must have been freaking out, the scorpions looks so real.
Maybe some sand on their base would complete the ensemble.
The fire beetles are nice too.

Thanks for all the comments. I really hesitate to put sand on them because they are so small (I think the photos make them look larger than they are) and they are already partly embedded in the base. Sand would just bury them.

Plus, they'll get used on a game map and be handled and I hate it when stuff crumbles off the base during a game.
