Greetings everyone.
Me and my friend have just started getting into warlord but we are put off abit by the use of square bases. As such we plan on using round bases for our models since we find these more aesthetically appealing. Will this cause many rule problems though?
cheers.
Using round bases?

Round bases will mess with some of the melee concepts such as base to base contact and the Swing Through SA.
You might try a few games with round bases and a few with square bases (attached with poster tack) to see the difference.

Here's what happened to me. I thought I would never use a square base for a skirmish game. The idea was repugnant to me. Now that I'm playing Warlord, it all makes sense in the game.
The other day I ripped an old Chaimail model off its round base and glued it onto a square one.
You should be able to play with round bases. Just remember that any base to base contact is good, and that you can "base" more than one model in this game, unlike in others. Get a few games under your belt to get the mechanics, and you'll get why the squares are more elegant for Warlord.
