Greetings everyone.

I am new to Warlords and I have yet to receive my rulebook. I was wondering if there were rules in the book for different types of weapons. I.e spear armed models work better against cavalry or Two-handed weapons do more damage etc.

cheers.

I have come to Warlord after first being addicted to Chronopia. In Chronopia, weapons were differentiated with amount of damage, reach, brace, and a few more modifiers.

Warlord does all of this without a whole lot of numbers. Let's talk about the basics. An increased MAV in Warlord reflects the fighting ability of the weapon, and generally is more with a two handed sword in the hands of an experienced soldier. Special abilities like Cleave mean they will do more damage in wound tracks. Spear armed troops will have Pike, meaning they are braced against incoming models, and the Reach ability to support their own troops from the back of the line.

After you get a few games in, it's very intuitive, and also accurate. All of the models I field feel like they are represented by the game mechanics.

I'll go into more if you like, but I hope that helps.
