Ok, a bit dramatic, but... :D The folks over at Miniature Heroes are bantering about the idea for a fun little contest. They are thinking about having a contest between forums. The idea is to get painters from various forums together to see who can paint the best mini. It's still in the developmental phase, but the idea is to have a "Ryder Cup" style contest, with a pair of painters from various forums (Reaper, WaMP, FOD, PB, CoC, and/or whoever else) to get together for a painting showdown. The initial thought was to have a panel of independent judges and to pair painters from opposing forums roughly on ability. One idea was to use average CMoN scores as a ballpark estimate of ability, that way you would be competing against someone relatively on par with you and not against someone significantly higher or lower.
Here is the thread: http://forum.miniatu....php?topic=41.0
If you have any other suggestions or would interested in participating let me know, either here in the thread or via PM! At this point, it's very preliminary and would just be for fun and bragging rights.
Thanks!
Defend Sophie's honor! Painting contest idea.

I think its a great idea myself. We can certainly add the CMPA forum to the competition. I'm sure I can twist a few arms and get my painters to participate. I'm sure I can lay claim to some good painters.
I did find the remark from the Europeans about not knowing about any US forums interesting since most of us actively participate in their forums.

Get WAMP to host the contest. It is a good neutral place with the setup to handle competition.
