There's always a Sharpie around that you can use to write your forum handle on your badge with.

Unless it has changed, you should be able to add your forum handle to badge when you get to Reaper [worst case, there should be a space to write it on the badge].

Thanks! I was hoping that it was that easy. ::):

Hell, last year, they had the option to add your handle to your badge when they printed it out.

Thank´s for creating this topic Warhorse. Since this is my first ReaperCon it´s good to know what kind of stuff should I bring to the classes (specially when you do 11 of they).

I will separate my brushes, a primed mini and a some painted ones for my class with Anne Foerster)

Hope I can assimilate everything and learn as much as possible from each class.

Lich, I have a feeling by the time Con is over, you will deserve a medal for attending all those classes. I thought I was bad with 8.

Yes, thanks! This info has been invaluable to me as well!

You're both very welcome! One thing I figured, if I had questions, surely others had them too - I couldn't be the ONLY one. lol!

The feedback has been absolutely invaluable with information. I did search for class descriptions - the most recent post I found was from 2008. So I know lots of things have changed. But I've gotten enough info here that I'm pretty confident on what to bring with me and I can organize it in such a way that I don't have to carry the entire studio with me - that is until I can get a briefcase like George Jettson's where I can open it and an entire office (studio in my case) pops out, nice, neat and organized. ^_^

Looking forward to meeting everyone!!!!

Cheers,
Kath

I mentioned this in another thread but I figured that maybe doing it here wouldn't hurt. Reaper is located in a little industrial park so parking gets crowded very quickly, especially on Thursday and Friday when the other business are still open. Pay attention to where you park, don't park in no parking areas you will get towed probably without warning. Don't park in front of the Reaper loading dock they may still be shipping on those days or accepting deliveries and really you don't want Matt looking for you for the wrong reason. So just be aware if you are driving in and carpooling would be greatly appreciated.

Reaper is located in a little industrial park so parking gets crowded very quickly, especially on Thursday and Friday when the other business are still open. Pay attention to where you park, don't park in no parking areas you will get towed probably without warning.

On Saturday last year, some cars came really close to being towed. Luckily, the neighbor who wanted to have "offending" cars towed came in to complain and Ed and Dave were able to calm him down enough for us to be able to find the cars' owners and have them move cars quickly enough to mollify the neighbor.

If there are no parking spots, don't make one. Park towards the front area of the industrial park and ask the business or county facility people if unsure.

I'm going to have to make sure I am extra early to secure a parking spot. Then again I have to be early every day to ensure everything is setup before my events.

Okay...cancelling the hotel room...sleeping in car. ;) It's cheaper anyway.

Just kidding! Thanks for the heads up Heisler. Are there any areas around where we might pay for parking. When I lived in Southern California, an area which had lots of concerts, events and just tons of activities never had enough parking. All around it were some businesses but most were residential. The residents fought and fought to get this thing shut down but city council loved all the money it brought in.

Instead of beating them, the residents joined them. They charged a couple of bucks (still cheaper than the paid parking at the event site) and allowed people to park on their lawns, driveways, etc. I spoke with one resident (as I forked over my money to park) and he said he now makes a killing every event because he can open his gate and let people park in back too. Southern Cal was constantly in water rationing mode it seemed. So most of the time residents can't water their lawns (expensive ticket if you do) and they had dead grass anyway. No harm, no foul. Oh and the residents also kept an eye on your vehicles. Most of them were pretty sharp and if they saw someone who didn't get out when the car parked now poking around, they'd call the law. During the summer, many of the beach areas ran out of parking too, businesses opened up their parking lots to allow you to park for a small fee. Many of them made more money that way than they did with their actual business. lol!

Anyways, just curious. Maybe a few businesses could possibly see the potential to capitalize on the opportunity. I certainly would rather pay a few bucks than have my car towed! ::D:

But most certainly I shall be very careful where I park.

It's really not that bad to park in the morning; it's when you leave for lunch and come back that it gets tough. ;)

There isn't any paid parking in the area, and the industrial park is a bit isolated so we just have to make do with what's there. Ron's right parking up closer to the front by the road is where most of the parking is located.

If push comes to shove, then there is a high school parking lot across the street that at least for the weekend portion could be used. I don't figure it gets to that point, but just saying...

Hell, I figured I'd just leave frozen pizzas on the dashboard. In Texas, by lunchtime, they'll be ready.

Or bread dough... throw that on the dash or back seat and have fresh baked bread by lunchtime ;)

If you are there early! By 10am its getting pretty dicey on the parking.
