Hey all, it's been a long time. Not sure if many of the posters here still remember me... :)

I was really excited by the new Bones line and picked up a Cave Troll as soon as I could. This was fun to paint as this model was one of the first minis that I ever painted. Unfortunately the mini was "lost" in a move and I can't seem to find my old mini photos...they might be lost as well. But you can see the new one!

Hope you like it. I tried to make the pustules as disgusting as possible.

Thanks Haldir, Adrift and MC. Nope, no primer. I love the Bones! I missed some mold lines when I was doing prep--as always--but found them when I started painting. I just cut them out and kept going. So awesome.

I found that a hobby knife worked best in dealing with the mold lines. Files didn't work so well, and created a fuzzy burr on the edge of the surface that I filed. X-acto worked much better.

One thing that was different was there was another mold line that went diagonally across the mini, top left to bottom right. It was not as obvious as the usual mold line, but did take a little attention to get rid of it.

I'd trade that for priming any day.

That's a great paint job! And you nailed the boils.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
John Stuart Mill
English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

Wow, what a great job. The boils are so good and gross that I had to wash my hands after writing this message.
