Does anybody else find it odd, by the way, that the information age has led to language becoming an oblique and imprecise tool where even the most straightforward phrasing is pored over with chicken entrails and bone tossing to divine the true meaning?

Nice thing about this trip (I think) I get to hit 2 new airports. Flight down I get Minneapolis & then the flight home I go through LAX. Anyone been to LAX? Granted I'm only there for like 30 mins but would nice to know some info.

Its been years since I have been through LAX, if you only have 30 minutes pray that your connecting gate is close by.

LAX is a bit of a mad house at times. Its a nice airport seeing as you don't have to drive around it =). If you have very far to go for your connecting gate, you should plan to hussle. Its big!

For me I can say I am not a skull with a red bandana, a eye patch, and a pair of cutlass behinds me...

Texas BBQ sounds great...As I can seen, during the Con I can kiss goodbye to my diet :-(

For a little entertainment, check out Rhett and Link's song about BBQ in the United States. It is intended to be humorous (like the barb that Florida is not a southern state - and the fact that they show the outline of California when talking about Florida), but it is also pretty spot-on when it talks about what the different states are known for when it comes to smoked meat goodness. Texas is all about the dry-rubbed, slow-smoked brisket, though you'll find some damn fine sausage, ribs, chicken, and pulled pork here too. But if you skip the brisket, you missed the star of the show in this state. ::): Enjoy!
