This is not a Reaper mini, but I've been a part of the Reaper Forums Family since I started painting, and I wanted to share my latest with you all!

You can find more photos of Rob Roy at MamaGeekMinis.com.

Wow, Joy, you really knocked it out of the park on this one. Simply stunning, my friend.

Some tales are better left for the light of day.

Stunning. Amazing highlights on the kilt. And a real hero, too. Just wondering, were you able to track down Rob Roy's clan's plaid?

Thanks, guys! Especially to Andy for all your support!

And yes, I used the following two reference photos from Wikimedia:

Historical tartan of Clan MacGregor (for freehand on the kilt)
http://upload.wikime...gor)_tartan.png

Clan MacGregor plate illustration, 1845 (for clothing colors)
http://upload.wikime...._R._McIan).jpg

The figure is sculpted to resemble Liam Neeson's film character, but I painted him like the historical person.

Lovely painting, but I really thought Tim Roth was a brilliant villian in the movie!!

10. Great work as always.... Love the tartan, not easy to do and it it highlighted and shaded very well not to mention the freehand. I also really like the black shirt. Very well done.

Finally the skin. Very good use of color.

Thanks, all! Your feedback and kind words are much appreciated!

And Stern Kestrelmann, you are right! You would think the larger scale would be easier, but I've been painting 28mm for so long that this one gave me all sorts of unanticipated problems. I'm glad to be finished with him, to tell the truth!

And yes, joshuaslater, Tim Roth was the ultimate villain's villain!

Thank you all very much! While working on the face and the kilt, I was seriously tempted to throw him through my kitchen window! I'm glad I stuck it out,and I appreciate the kind words.

@HarDRollins: just keep practicing! And share your work and seek critiques. And keep that resolve to push yourself to constantly improve. (And I'm happy I could provide a little inspiration!)
