Reaper Silver Dragon

So I've finally gotten around to it, and I thought that posting my progress will give the incentive to stick with it and get it done.
The first step, after assembly, was to mount it on a GW chariot base (the integral base on the model is way too thin for it to stand on), then I added some treasures from one of the Reaper Treasure Packs, and finally textured the base with Epoxolite epoxy putty.
I wanted this to be a Smaug-ish dragon, so I base coated it with Reaper MSP Red Brick, then painted each individual scale with MSP Deep Red. Initially, I wanted the ventral plates to be a creamy, golden white; I basecoated them with MSP Blackened Brown, then layered on MSP Halforc Highlight, followed by a layer of MSP Chestnut Brown.
In the next step I began highlighting the scales, first with MSP Blood Red then with HD Bright Red, and finally with HD Burning Orange on the most prominent scales. After doing this, I realized the colour choice for the ventral plates was wrong. I decided to redo these as a golden orange that would better compliment the scales, so I re-based them with MSP Mahogany Brown, then layered them with MSP Rust Brown, and then again on the bottom half of each plate with a layer of HD Burning Orange. This is pretty subtle since Rust Brown and Burning Orange are very close in colour.
More to follow; the next step will be highlighting the ventral plates.
