I received my first order of Bones miniatures, and I'm really pleased with them. The quality is truly as good as metal; once painted I can't really tell the difference. Both of these were painted unprimed, and they took the paint very well.

The more I see of the Bones the happier I get about them. Those both look great. Did you try removing any mold lines on them? I can see a little bit of one on the ghost but if thats all there is on them for mold lines its great.

Mold lines I can deal with. I'm just amazed he could do that without priming and then not lose any paint when he picked 'em up!

With respect to the priming, I was dubious, too. So I gave the purple worm a base coat then rubbed the heck out of it. My best efforts were only able to rub off a little bit of paint on some raised areas. These babies can take some hard play without ruining the paint job.

The mould lines, on the other hand were a real pain. The plastic is very durable, but this means that the lines are also difficult to get off. Light filing is ineffective; you've really got to go at it, and when the mould lines cross details it gets really tough. If you look closely at the underbelly you can still see a faint mould line, and that is after some concerted filing.

Still and all, Bones miniatures have exceeded my expectations.

I ordered 5 Bones minis and am currently working on painting up the troll. Thus far, I'm happy with how it is painting up. I chickened out and primed mine lightly however.

With respect to your paintjobs, I really like what you did!

I quite like the paintjob on the worm, though you could reall do something with those mold lines on both minis!

Those look amazing! Great job. ;) Especially the ghost. I ordered about 18 of the Reaper Bones. I can't wait to get them. :D

Thanks, Silas, I'll be ordering a bunch more now that I've tried them out.

Those are awesome paintjobs Furongian! I believe I may be ordering myself that purple worm when I get paid.

Thanks, Azreck; for $2.99 you can't afford not have one! Reaper has now made it possible to subject your players to an infestation of purple worms. Oh the carnage!

Nice work on both of these. I picked them up recently myself and have just done the mold lines and gluing down on the worm. Looks like the paint will (hopefully!) happen tomorrow. I used a scalpel to do the lines though - a file doesn't seem to work well with this kind of rubbery-ish plastic.
