This past weekend I picked up a copy of Heritage Models 75mm Gimli (from 1978) based on the Ralph Bakshi movie The Lord of the Rings and given its age, it is quite a nice figure (kinda sorry I didnt pick the rest of what the vendor had). I will post pics ASAP. I dont plan to copy the color scheme from the movie as it just didnt look the part to me and back in my gaming days, dwarves were pretty much all I played, so I have good idea how a dwarf should look. I do have a question though; would it be appropriate to paint some type of rune on the back of his vest/jerkin?

I think a rune could work well. You can always go to the original maps from The Hobbit for some good ones too, if you want to keep it in theme. Can't wait to see pics.

Thanks for the idea, I will have to dig out my copy of The Hobbit. I already have an idea for the groundwork, and the pant scheme should be pretty easy, now I just have to work on this rune idea and hope I don't muck it up (free hand is not my strong suit).

A rune on the back of his jerkin? Sounds good but it also sounds like he could end looking like a biker. Be sure to pick the right rune.
