...i show up to me ol' stomping grounds after all this time, and...i find myself looking at a single post about zombies...

(the russian commisar restrains from weeping)

so, i am just gonna be social about it. if this is to be taken as a good sign, we are actually out there playing games as opposed to posting here, eh? if so, what are we playing, crew?
:B):

i have actually been hitting up the ol' Samurai Swords/Shogun box game: i bought an additional box (not the new Ikusa) and have gone forth to prove my strategic skill now that i have replacement pieces.

Flames of War occupies a lot of my time, but with 3rd ed. out, people are a bit shifty on getting a game or two...
(Early War...there is a full basket of worms there! and my DAK have yet to see a win...)

I'm still looking into ACW, but only because i found a second player! (Original player moved away, sadly!)

am still working on a playable Air Combat game, but as my life has gotten busy, i have less time...

i've picked up Force on Force by Ambush Alley/Osprey, and i hear they are coming out with their wars in africa book this summer. oh, fun with african militias!
(it takes two read-throught to get the idea, but all in all i like this game.)

enjoy rolling dice!

My club is currently playing Force on Force (Enduring Freedom although Cold War Gone HOT has a following), ACW (Fire and Fury regimental) and FOW on a fairly regular basis.

Force on Force!! heck yes! i have the book, but if i find somethign cool, my problem is to find people who aren't just slaves to the popular fantasy games grind.
i have been waiting for Bush Wars, though i've considered the others very carefully.
...and is it me, or does the game require a setting book or either players with hard research on what X country's standard platoon would be rated?

FoW has me. i'm looking forward to fightign the new powered-up americans, and i seek more battles in Mid War...the schnellsquadron Stg44's call me more than volkgrenadiers...

....
so, yeah, enough posting. i have mini's to paint, money to make, and auctions to win!

Force on Force is playable right from the main rulebook. You never have to buy the theme books, although Enduring Freedom I believe is playable without the main book. If the stuff in the book doesn't hit what you want then you are going to have to do some research. We play it in 20mm which is a whole new scale for me.

I've been digging FoF, though I've yet to get my group to try it. I'm partial to Cold War, personally, but the rule set is pretty solid for all. As for scale, when I got the rules I started working on a 20mm force, but have since given that up and gone back to 15mm. Now I've got a bunch of Dragon pre-paints I no longer need if anyone is interested... :poke:

i would be interested in those depending on what they are. I'm mostly looking for HMMWVs but my group as a whole maybe interested in what you have. PM me when you have a chance.

Awesome! I'll make a list and PM you, hopefully this evening. There are a few HMMWV's as well as other stuff.

My most recent obsession has been FoF. I've put together a 20mm USMC and Iraqi force that I've been working my way though the book scenarios with. Lots of fun and interesting getting up to speed on current military technology and small unit tactics.

I've still got a lot of FoW on the painting table, although my playing in that system has really dropped off. Not that I lost interest, just not enough time to do all the gamining I would like to. I also play around with 1/600 ACW Naval, 10mm ACW, and 28mm Wild West. I used to play 15mm DBM, but I've gotten tired of that system and have not found a replacement I like yet, for my several 15mm Ancients armys.
