Thank´s for the tip Haldir, I will check it out.

I just sent a e-mail to BW to see from what time I can make the check. it´s pointless to arrive earlier at the hotel if I have to wait for two or three hours at the door before getting the room.

Check in at BW is 3PM. They may be able to move that up a bit for you with it being the middle of the week, but that would be on a room by room basis if they will do it at all.

Hi Pole,

BW answered me and to be able to make the checking earlier, they ask for a fee. To wait at the hotel desk until 3 PM, I rather prefer to wait at the airport for a ride. They got plenty of shops and restaurants there to spend time and I will probably bring my netbook filled with tv series to watch :-).

Hope MiniCannuck still have that spot in his car LOL :-)

I've checked in at that BW before 3 pm. If they know you or if you say your there for ReaperCon, they generally will waive the time, if the room is ready.

Right now it's just MC & myself so that spot is still open if you need it.

Also did you ask the Best Western whether they could hold your luggage somewhere safe while you wait for the room? I mean assuming that's the main thing you want the room for. I've heard of hotels doing that if you arrive before usual check in time.

Actually, I forgot to ask BW about making a earlier checking for being part of ReaperCon or about a place for leaving luggage. :-)

Thinking again, I guess it´s better to wait for MC and Haldir to meet with me, instead of arriving at the hotel earlier without knowing anyone.

Hey, Noel. I'm local and won't be staying at the hotel, so I can't help with a room, but I will be driving in every day and would be happy to help you get to and from the hotel whenever you need a lift.

Thank you. As of right now a friend offered to put me up at their place. It's about 40 minutes away, but I get my own bed and it's a LOT better than having to get a room on my own.

Hey Noel! I've got a room at the BW and am looking for a Roomie to split costs. But if you'd rather stay with your friend, I understand. :)

I'm also driving up from the Beaumont, TX area. I've got a Honda CR-V so plenty of room and great gas mileage. If anyone is between here and there and y'all need a ride, please let me know. I'll be checking in on Wed after three but probably leaving early Wed morning because it is quite a drive.

A note on the ride - when I travel long distances - I rarely stop except for coffee if my thermos runs out. I do bathroom breaks when I stop for gas (or coffee) which isn't all that often. So if you are someone who has to stop every 20 minutes, bring a can.

(And I'm kidding about the can! lol!)

I still have room for one in my car if anyone needs a ride back and forth to the convention or hotel. I am driving up from Arlington and we are staying at the BW and will be eating out most every night, and we're flexible. We should be leaving Arlington around 4:45PM or so and will be in Denton around 6:00PM or 6:30 at the latest on Wednesday; and we are leaving Sunday evening.

I will arrive at DFW at 9h30 and will take a ride with MiniCannuck around 16h00. I guess he still have a spot in his car if you need a ride.

And an update on hotel Room at BW.

It looks like Skya got is worked out with her friend so if anyone still wants to split a room, I've got one at the BW. I'm coming in Wed afternoon and checking out Sunday morning so its the entire run of Con. It would be great if I could find someone who wants to stay the entire time, but if I need to nickle and dime it by 1 or 2 nights, each, I'll consider it.

And I was going to make a joke that popped into my head as I typed it but...I think I'd better leave it alone.

Yeah, definitely not gonna touch that one.
