Hey guys, figured we probably needed a thread just for coordinating rides, shared rooms and that sort of thing.


I'll start with I'm looking for someone to room with or somewhere to crash. I'm coming in late Tuesday night the 15th and leaving for home mid-evening Wednesday the 23rd. If anyone is coming or going then carpooling to and from the airport would be great as well. I know it's both showing up earlier and leaving later than most people, but I'm hoping that maybe someone else likes to take things leisurely too, or perhaps there's someone local I could crash with who that timetable wouldnt be a problem for? I'm happy to pay my way, and could even offer some painting lessons in trade if there's an interest.

While I have a tentative deal worked out for a ride from the airport on 5-16-12 (Weds), I might as well put up a post just in case something happens (Fruggs did say she had a SMALL car ). My flight get in around 2 pm, well probably closer to 230 pm with baggage claiming & such.

Also I have a room at the BW & I'm looking for a roomie to go halves with me on it. I'm booked from the 16th (Weds) to 21st (Monday). I'll be leaving Monday morning. I got a good rate at the BW around 75 a night.

I'm local-ish (Downtown Dallas), but I'm getting a room at the BW. I can help out with rides if anyone needs one. Love field is on my way, but I could also be convinced to pass by DFW.

I am coming in from Austin on Thursday and leaving Sunday. I am booked at the Best Western as well. If anyone needs rides to and from the con or want to share a ride in from the Austin area (because gas is getting ridiculous, even in Texas) let me know.

Well,

I already got a ride from the airport to the hotel with Mini Cannuck on Wednesday 16th (thank´s a lot pal) but since I don´t want to trouble him much longer, I will also need rides to the Con during the four days and one back to the airport in Monday 21th. Don´t need to say that I´m willing to share the fuel for the trips.

I was thinking, maybe we can arrange some kind of "warmup" for the Con in the Hotel Wednesday night, so people can meet each other and arrange the rides. I think it will be a good opportunity specialy for those like me who never been in the Con before.

a Wednesday night get together sounds like a great idea. Perhaps this would be a great night to go out for dinner.

We can also figure out who needs rides in the morning.

Actually Weds is the "unofficial" start to RCon. Everyone gathers at Reaper HQ around 6 or so & then it a meet & greet. Reaper puts on a informal dinner & you get to bs with people you know & of course don't know as well.

If they know yah, you'll get your con pack that day so you'll be ready for Thursday & such, if not then you'll pick it up on Thurs like normal.

Weds is one of my favorite times for the entire Con as it lets me see people that I haven't seen in over a year & such. Fun times!

Oh cool! Guess I'll have to be sure to leave early in the day on Wednesday (it's about an 8 hour drive for me) so I can try to make that. Also, I'll be happy to help out with some rides as well since I'm also staying at the BW.

ARGH!!! I can't wait for May! I feel like a little kid in the back seat of a car on a long road trip: "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

Registration typically opens around noon on Thursday (or whatever the official time for the con opening is this year). Getting the packets ready with all the classes, shirts, swag, and various other items takes quite a bit of logistical work so they're not usually ready on Wednesday.

Hey gang, I'm going to throw my hat in if anyone needs a ride. I'm driving from the Beaumont, TX area and can stop and pick up anyone along the way. I have a Honda CRV so it has plenty of room for stuff and people as well as great gas mileage.

I went ahead and booked a room at BW since according to their online info, they only had 5 left. I'll be driving up on Wed. and leaving Sun. Because its filling up so fast if anyone wants to split a room let me know and we can discuss. (I realize I'm a complete stranger to many but some of you know me. )
