I love seeing all of the new painters posting their work. It is great to see new blood starting this hobby (or at least new blood posting pictures here). It looks like you have good brush control, your lines look crisp and clean, the eyes are well done and the eye brows are solid. I think in your next piece you should start playing more with washes. It looks like you used one on the cloak. Armor is a great place to learn washes, especial chain mail, it is very easy and makes the armor appear to have more depth. Thanks for sharing.

You can control where the washes go though. Get them into the deeper recesses of the mini. I would basecoat with either Boltgun metal or a dark pewter color. Then add a wash of either devlan mud or badabb black. Then you can go back to boltgun for a first highlight, then keep going with the lighter shades of silver up to Mithril Silver. That way you have a nice gradual blend from your darker shadows to your highest highlights. Kind of like this:

This has potential mien freund. I'd love to see you attach this to a round or square plastic base and mount it to a paint block as you work.

Also, get that bare metal covered!

I agree with Digital M@, your lines are clean, and accurate.

Don't be afraid of washes! They are really great! You can use the Games Workshop brand of washes if you are looking for something really effective. They are really well made. Remember, you can always paint over your large open areas with your base coat again to remove any wandering of the washes. Also, don't forget your base! Bases are like a little piece of the miniatures world, and can add so much flavor and character to your mini.

I like both your paladin and Darius' orc.

I have recently started thinning my acrylic with more than just water. I mix 25% Flow Improver, 25% Drying Retarder, and 50% Water. To that mix I usually paint one part mixture and one part Reaper paints. Mostly I like the results, but I noticed my metallic paints lost some of their shinyness. (Is that a word?) And while I could just paint without the mixture, it occurred to me that their might be a mixture out there that increased the shinyness. Any ideas?

i used the reaper propaint gold and silver, the new master series metalics suck they dont cover or look as shinny as the propaint series

I like the "stubble" on his face. Also great control. Yup just take a thin brush like a liner & go along the edges of the armor it'll give it some depth.
