Actually you gotta beat them down cause they smell...honest that is the 1st quest in that chain. Thou the one I had to beat up was by my kitchen so maybe there is hope.....

Well of COURSE they smell! How in heck else are they supposed to sniff out lasagna?

Seriously though, is there any logic to how long a crop lasts before it withers. I know in Farmville it was growing-time X4. I'm having no luck with the 1 hour stuff.

I wanna say it's 3x the growth time. Thou I'm not exactly sure since I've grown grapes & spaced them off & they were still alive after 20 mins or so. I've had cotton thou wilted just barely after the growth time. I generally grow crops while I'm at work (ie the long amount ones)

Also couple tricks, if you want extra coins put your buildings on top of bought lands (like cobblestone or dirt, whatever you can buy in the marketplace).

Also giving your crops water will speed up the time as well. I know if you put water all around them, they'll grow pretty fast. I have mine around the pond. By a straight strip of water & then I have a pump that has 4 attached to it.

I found a way to get around annoying your non-Castleville-playing friends with game requests and whatnot.

Matter of fact this works for other FB games too, such as Words With Friends.

Certain apps demand that you allow all game actions be posted to your wall or timeline and therefore to your friends' homepages too. Words With Friends goes so far as to disable the app if you even try hiding posts on your timeline (a rather low tactic IMO). I'm not sure if Castleville does or plans to do the same in the future.

My trick involves using the App Activity Privacy setting and custom friends "Lists" to filter who can and can't see your game activity.

On your homepage, down the lefthand side you'll see a section called LISTS with a link just to the word "Lists" that says "More". Cllick that to open your lists-management page. Click "+ Create List" at the top right of the page. Name it something to do with the app you'll be filtering (Castleville Friends) and add all your fellow Castlevillains to the field below.

Step 2- At the very top righthand corner of the page, click the little down-arrow next to "Home". Click "Account Settings". On that page, look for "Apps" tab in the lefthand sidebar. Pick the app you want to filter and click the "Edit" link to the right of that app. A menu will display with lots of fun options you might have never even known about.

In Castleville's menu, you apparently have the option to remove the app's permission to publish game and app activity, but we all know that you don't necessarily want to do that..especially if you need that next Exploration Crystal or whatnot. So look down just a little more and you'll see the App Activity Privacy section. "Who can see posts and activity from this app on Facebook?" It is likely set to default "Friends". Click that button to see other options. Choose "Custom" and in the "Make this visible to" optoins, choose "Specific people or lists". In the box below begin typing the name you gave your special list. It should autofill. Click SAVE CHANGES and BOOM! You're done!

I'm not sure if all these options are available on all apps or if all apps have updated their permissions systems to comply. It seems Words With Friends is experiencing some serious hiccups and angering a LOT of users. But so far this trick has worked for me with both apps.

I haven't got that one yet. I just opened up Lamont's square so I'm crafting stuff to tackle him.

It was good for many laughs here when I started playing and my first NPC-neighbor showed up. My real-life neighbor is also named Rafael, and he's the one who helped us with our veggie garden for a share of the crops.

Does anybody know exactly how Alliances work? I try to visit every friend's Kingdom daily, but do they also have to visit mine to maintain Alliance status?

Also, has anybody achieved any of the Workshop Masteries yet? I just am curious how much quicker you can make stuff after you have Mastery.
