GenCon is my 2nd biggest shopping day of the year (after Reapercon) and I have set a challenge for myself to clear the paint table and make room for the new goodies.

Here they are:
Aberrant CSO Marshal
Ral Partha female gunslinger
50023 Doc Holiday
Billy 'the kid' (unknown)
RAFM female cultist
Eureka teddy bear pirate
Eureka teddy bear captain
Eureka flying monkey
self-sculpted mouseling #1
sculpted mouseling #2
50228 Whitney
50109 Alice
50128 Krissy
50216 cowgirl
50232 Karla
50194 Cleo
50210 Bonnie
50143 Agatha

Fortunately for me all but 3 of the figures have some kind of basecoat started and most are based.

Good luck to you. I'd be amazed if I was able to get three done in that time frame.

Good Luck!

I did a similar challenge, but it was all speed paint on very similar models.

Finished the Aberrant CSO Marshal and Ral Partha female gunslinger today.

I see I need to go back and touch up the girl's eye.

Today's progress: 50143 Agatha and 50228 Whitney:

I also finished attaching all loose figures to their bases.

Here's two more. I did the teddy bear pirate on Monday and finished Billy today. Both of them are fairly crude sculpts and I did not spend a lot of time trying to fight that. They will get spray coated and be ready for table gaming.

I also spent some time on the (mainly) Reaper figures I still have in my queue.

Friday I finished 50023 Doc Holiday. It's a straightforward figure, large sections of dark clothing punctuated by little details.

Sunday was a busy day for me, I completed four figures. The first two, 50232 Karla
and 50210 Bonnie were already basecoated but I had a lot of touch up work to do as they got scuffed a bit when I transported them to a friend's house to work on. There's probably several hours work in each figure, and then I put some extra effort into the bases on top of that.

The second pair of figures are mouselings. The scrawny fellow on the left I sculpted in class at Reapercon, he's wearing a tricorne and carrying a pistol from the pirate's weapon pack. The fat fellow on the right started off as the classroom example, and has come to no good end as you can see by his beer and his cigarette. My apologies to Gene for hijacking his sculpt.

In the week or so that I've been doing this personal challenge I've come to some realizations. A table full of unpainted minis is scary. But it doesn't take much to block out some base colors pretty quick, just to get paint on, skintones, boots, large areas of fabric. Nothing that requires a lot of time or coordination.

At that point, the figures are half done and much less intimidating to work on.

This is 50109 Gothic Lolita Alice. I sculpted the mini hat for her and turned the potion bottle into a stuffed cat doll. I'm happy with the way she came out, except for the face, which has no nose. I tried painting it in with a highlight, but she still looks a little strange.

Ok, I regret having to do this, but I have to put my self-challenge on hold. I've managed to mess up my elbow *and* aggravate the tendonitis in my wrist, so no painting for me for a while. I don't know what I did, but the painting is irritating my arm more than anything right now and I need to rest it. I'll pick this up again sometime in August when I'm feeling better.

Sorry to hear about your injury. They were getting kicked out pretty quick. I really liked your Doc Holiday and your Karla. Get some rest and then get back on em :B):

Ok, the clock has started again. It's a busy month and I debated putting this off until a week when I had more time, but then I realized if I used that excuse I would never get any painting done.

So, the remaining six minis in 11 days... plus I am working on my contest entry.

Didn't finish anything today, but Krissy the modern witch and the RAFM cultist are very near completion.

Looking forward to seeing more! Take care of yourself, though. I know what those evil flareups feel like. :grr:
