You know those tasks that hang over your head, that seem more and more onerous the longer you put them off -- and then when you finally bite the bullet and sit down to do them, are nowhere near as bad as you expected? I just shaded and highlighted the steel bits on those two evil troopies. It wasn't one of those tasks -- it was just as much fiddly, precise, painstaking work as I'd expected it to be. But DAMN it looks good!

Because of wife issues I wasn't sure when or if I would get around to doing anything this month. As it stands, since last Friday, Ive done the following:

2 Razig Skeletal Harpooners
9 Ammat Devourer
3 Anubis Guards
2 Jackel statues

As mentioned in the WiP forum, Im working on Pepto the Thornback Troll, and I have the two hunting lizards all of which should be complete by this weekend + whatever else catches my eye... maybe the Egyptian Ash Urn

Everything comes to a screeching halt, as my garage has reached Critical Mess.  Plus Sarge's nifty game room pictures inspired me, so nothing else gets done until the garage is clean, and my workshop is setup.  Still need to take pics...

No painting today, but I did play a game of Starmada with my two oldest sons. Their first game for that system. It was a close victory for me. If Zachary had gotten one more odd die on a damage roll it would've been a tie. If we hadn't stopped when victory conditions were met he would've finished me. He did however destroy two of his older brother's ships. Michael on the other hand was plagued with horrible rolls. He just couldn't get a hit. Next time I'm either not going to mix regular Starmada and Klingon Armada ships or I'm going to use the standard faceted shield rules for the KA ships.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

I've said this a million times, I really should paint my Warlord stuff.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

I got nothing done this week, since my better half was out of town for most of it. I am hoping to get in some time at the painting table today and tomorrow, but even that is not guaranteed.

OTOH, I did get almost everything on the list primed, which is something. . . . I guess.
The PCs are rootin', tootin' kittens living in this very town who, with flamethrowers, fight the enemies of the State for electrum pieces...or so it would seem.

Army-sized projects for 2011 - Warmahordes - Minions, Skorne, Retribution, Circle, Cryx, possibly Cygnar. WFB - Ogres, Skaven, Dwarves, Orcs and Vampire Counts. 40k - Tau, Guard, Marines, Orks. FoW - German, Soviets, Brits. DBA - 6 armies. 25mm Western figs. Some giant stompy robots for CAV and HG. A bunch of 25mm Romans just because. Maybe a couple of Warmaster armies.

The listing above is only a WIP. No big deal, since almost everything on it is a WIP as well.

At the end of the month, I finished 10 Valhallan infantry and the battle troll. That's not quite what I was aiming for, (still have a few Valhallans left), but for a short month with hockey to watch, I'll take it! ::D:

2013 Stats: 37 painted, 37 purchased. 37/2 - 37 = -18.5

I was making good progress on the dwarves that needed to be repainted (grrr) until I found I was missing a color. So much for momentum.

There's always next month.

Finally got the parts to finish my Feddie FFs (new deflector dishes), so they have been primed and basecoated. At the same time I got a new set of decals! Should be able to get them done in the next few days (sadly not in time for Feb...so they'll go into March I guess...). I'll also be able to finish ALL my Klingon ships in the same period! Unfortunately I have been distracted by the release of the 1/1000 refit Enterprise model kit (3 sheets of decals!!!), so I'm sure that'll interfere with the best laid plans...
