Right now I'm just going through my "old stock", pulling some stuff that was sitting on the shelf out of their blisters and getting them cleaned up and assembled if necessary so I will be ready to prime and paint once the humidity breaks. I'm also putting together some old WH40K plastics I had sitting around (Space Marines, Tau and Necrons). Not quite sure why, as its been years since I played any 40K, but I guess I was just thinking how nice it would be if I were to actually finish one of those armies I started!

And the dwarf wizard is almost done, too. Good thing I've spent so much time on these guys this week, as I start my new job (yay! Back among the ranks of the gainfully employed!) on Monday and won't have so much time to paint now.

Bugbear Bully - More progress.
Squad of 5 dudes with guns - Basecoating started. These are fairly ugly sculpts, which bodes well for finishing them quickly -- I'm not inspired to try to do anything complicated with them.
However, I am starting to peek at my 'unprimed' pile (it's moved beyond shelves of prepped minis to include boxes of stuff that's not out of the package yet because I don't have anywhere to put it) to pick out stuff to get primed before winter. This is sure to be a distraction.

VGC Dwarf Flesh (duh)
VGC Beasty Brown for wooden axe haft and hair/beard
VGC Gunmetal for the steel
VGC Cobra Leather for leather (boots, belt, pouch, armor trim)
RMS Linen White (and some VGC Black) for eyes (yes, I painted the eyes b/c I want this to take EXTRA time
GW Dwarf Bronze for rivets and shield emblem
P3 Sanguine Base & Skorne Red (50-50 mix) for the red tunic
VGC Cold Grey for the surface of the base (I'll flock with gravel later, edges are black)
EDIT: Oh, and washed with brown ink wash (Kel's Magic Suace)
(I'll post a pic eventually)
It took a little less than an hour to paint. Hopefully the average time will be a little less when I'm rack-painting. My goal is to get them done before the September meeting of my painting club.
I'm also working on some modular dungeon pieces in Hirst Arts (below) and a 4" field stone tower (no pic).

I've been out of the painting loop a lot this summer, but I just got 18 Skull Pass dwarfs primed (black) and based. Basically all of the stunties in the set except for thunderers, standard bearers, and musicians. My plan is not to use the figs for WFB, so I just need a bunch of fantasy dwarfs. I've painted one last PM as a color test. I tried a fairly limited palette:
VGC Dwarf Flesh (duh)
VGC Beasty Brown for wooden axe haft and hair/beard
VGC Gunmetal for the steel
VGC Cobra Leather for leather (boots, belt, pouch, armor trim)
RMS Linen White (and some VGC Black) for eyes (yes, I painted the eyes b/c I want this to take EXTRA time)

The Reptus really didn't want to cooperate but I did get the grunts done and a color scheme set.
The exchange mini is prepped and primed but isn't currently talking to me about colors. Stupid stubborn minis. And it had some mold lines that didn't show up until after being primed, of course. But it WILL get painted and in the mail this month.

* Ork Trukk -- almost done, some touch up and need to paint the gunner
* 12 Trukk boyz (slugga boyz) -- almost done
* 12 Trukk boyz (slugga boyz) -- almost done
* Looted Wagon -- Converted & primed
* 10 lootas -- partially assembled
* 10 tankbusters -- to do
* Warphead
For those who are not familiar with 40k orks, slugga boyz are close combat oriented orks. The looted wagon is a converted rhino (a Space Marine transport). Lootas are orks with fancy guns. Tankbusters are specialized at taking out vehicles, and the warphead is a character who can use psychic powers.
True to form, I've abandonded the painting schedule that I set for myself this month to do a new project.
I've had to suppress the urge about 20 times to stay on track.
