It began as the wind, blowing through the dark crevices of my mind. Haunting my sleep every moment it could take. It stole my words, my desires, my heart and refused to return them. I didn't know what to call it at first. I ventured long and far, in search of the cure, but no help could be found. Alas, one hot summer day, I heard it whispered for the first time. At first it was gentle, teasing me with it's news and the fact that it was the one that haunted me at night. Carefully, as if caressing a long lost lover it pulled my debit card from my purse. It smiled at me and told me that it's name was Reaper, and promised that the first time might be the hardest, but after that it would be easy. It would only be 35$ after all.
I listened to its words, completely drunk on its promises and knew that my life would no longer be the same. As soon as my words returned to me all I could say was "More! More!" but it only stared at me with its smiling, seductive face.
I was lost and knew I couldn't return, I waited days on end until the promised parcel was at my door. It had kept its word, tiny vials of paint and miniatures poured into my lap and I knew what purpose I held then. I would paint these, I would love these, and I would play with them.
"But play what?" My mind asked itself.....slowly the words came to my lips, as if it was something I always knew, "Numenera."
Seriously though. The husband was taking me through the gaming room at Dragon Con and I saw they were painting Miniatures. I always had a hard time getting into table top because I just wished I had something personal to play with that I worked on. I painted my first miniature that day, and the guy running it told me about the Reaper Kickstarter. As soon as I got some more cash I bought my first LTPK.
This story though isn't as interesting as the first one though :P
