Army of Hexor

I have about 11 or 12 of these guys.
Men at Arms
This guy will serve as a fairly powerful villian.
Mangu
As will this guy.
Inquisitor
This guy here I also have and he will make a good champion for the men at arms.
Legionnaire
Hexor's symbol is a black gauntlet clutching several red arrows. I'm trying to come up with a third background color but I'm having some difficulty deciding. It would show up well on white and be heraldically correct but white shields just don't say "Evil War God" to me. Yellow/Gold would also be an option and I suppose if I didn't make it bright yellow that might work but it still seems a bit bright. Not really sure what else would go well with the symbol though. I've considered just making the symbol all black and going with a red background but I'd like to avoid that if possible. Any suggestions?

Dragon #67 "Deities and Demigods of the World of Greyhawk"
Hextor - The clergy dress in dark red robes adorned with white skulls. The symbol is a Fist holding 6 red arrows.
I would probably go with steel for the metal bits (don't want it to look to clean...these guys should have bloody armor you know). Dark Red for the cloth and what not. Do up a white skull where you want to do the symbol...and put the symbol over the skull.
The yellow/gold wouldn't work IMO depending on how closely you want to follow the written stuff. Hextor's half brother and sworn enemy is Heironeous and his people are associated with yellow/gold and blue.

Paint Storage? We can do that. Minis? We do that too.

Oh that's great info. I think I'll go with the skull thing. I knew the D&D gods were the old Greyhawk gods but I never played much in Greyhawk so I didn't know the older backstory about them. One of my players is a Paladin or Heironeous.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

If these are just going on shields have you considered printing decals instead of painting. Would be more consistent and faster than freehand.
Actually they will probably be going on several things and the shields on the men at arms are two different sizes. I think i still have some decal sheats from the two or three box of plastic skellies I have laying arround for differnt projects if I decide not to freehand.

suggestion for Mangu--how about a blood red armor with deep almost to black shadows on him & then highlights of red but not a bright red, like he bathes his armor in the blood of his enemies (Heironeous (see did it again, ha ha)) before donning it.
If you campaign is high enough, how about a Blood Golem of Hextor?? pretty cool golem for Hextor stuff
Pic here (mini from DDMs) BG of Hex mini
want more info let me know on it
some other info
Background
Hextor is the half-brother of Heironeous (AH HA), and as diabolic as his brother is angelic. He delights in torture, bloodshed, and strife, and preaches a creed of iron-fisted dominance. His priesthood consists of two factions: the Bringers of Strife, and the Legion of Battle. The Bringers are traditional priests, and typically have two or more lower-ranked members of the Legion as guardians. The Legion is a military order organized much like a feudal knighthood, consisting of clerical warriors (crusaders). The Bringers keep the populace in line, while the Legion spreads the word of Hextor to those who will convert, and death to those who refuse.
(keep editting this, as I'm getting ideas in my head....:) )
how about have "Mangu" have a sword like those Halloween sword that have a chamber for "blood" to trickle down for effect, but something like that for a weapon. Sword has a inner chamber that boosts the blades nastiness for something like that. Sounds like a fun campaign, good luck with it.
