I just wanted to be clear that Canadians are allowed to enter this contest.

there have been numerous occasions that I was not allowed to participate in an online contest due to geographical concerns.

We'll take anyone, as long as the work is actually yours.

Well...

No comment on the 'eh' part. (It is aboot time we moved past that eh?)

As for the Loonies and Toonies...

When they introduced the dollar coin in Canada in the late 80s - the original design was supposed to be a canoe - but the die was lost. So they went with the back up design - of a Northern Loon. Hence the name 'Loonie'. In 1996 they replaced our two dollar bill (Red with a robin on it) with a coin they used a really cool double alloy (Gold coloured center with a silver ring around it) and put a picture of a polar bear on it.... Sadly - we were so used to calling the Loonie a Loonie - the name Toonie was immediately applied never to be removed.

On a related note-> Ontario (my home province) does not allow beer or liqour sales in grocery/convenience/drug stores. So for years the only place to buy booze (generally) is at the LCBO (Liqour Control Board of Ontario) stores and 'Brewers Retail'. Brewers Retail decided to rename their organization - and quickly landed on the name that everyone called them anyway. The Beer Store. So when visiting Ontario - be sure to stop in and see the amazing selections available at 'The Beer Store' and 'The LCBO' (which everyone calls 'The Liquor Store')...

As for enetering the Halloween contest - I have already been madly modifiying a miniature!!! Muh ha ha haaaaa - Need extra space to plaster it with Maple leaves ya see!
