Haha, you're right and I'm an idiot. For some reason I thought it was just a flat +2 to CCV.

*smacks self for not RTFM*

edit:

Although.....since infantry can't remount in the same turn leaving infantry out in the open for at least a little bit....

Won't that make them a good counter for Rach infantry then?

Hmm, yep. Gonna have to do something about that....like destroy Adon.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

Back when I was at Reaper, one of the several projects that got "shelved" once I had to start working on Warlord and CAV both at the same time was an Adonese language primer.

Until the day I set it aside, I had worked out a written script, dictionary of words, and 3-4 "language lessons' (complete with examples)... would something like this be of interest to yall?
~Matt Ragan
Yall [pronoun] - Plural pronoun of the second person. Sometimes incorrectly regarded as a contraction of "You-All" by well meaning, but typically clueless yankees.
Example: Yall can keep your dang apostrophe

That sounds really cool; even if just to get a feel for the sound in order to create accurate names. Possibilities beyond that are even better ::):

I would seriously consider one or even two of engineering squads with advanced repair. I personally dont like to take any low DV vehicles in a free forall. Someone almost always has a spare shot or two they will use on you. I also would take more smoke srikes and plan on dropping them on your sections every turn. To pay for this I would drop the spider and make the firesupport section a specialist section and add the mounted engineer infantry there, for two I would drop a hornet as well. Don't forget FiST and Shock for him too.

What type of units do the adon forces need, what kind of holes are you guys having to fill in with open units?

Hmm...I'll do this by section type.

Fire Support: Mostly open market, but all Adonese UCOR models--Hornet, Bishop, Sultan, Spider. The Sultan is still quite good, despite OM status, so I don't think anything is needed here.
Attack: The Mantis and the faction Ogre are quite formidable, as is the Scorpion in open market. The Scarab makes a great main battle tank as well.
Recon: Electronics-wise, all set with the Recluse and the new Wasp. Weak on the recon-section type models though, more on that at the end.
Transports: Courier and Centipede (my personal favorites) cover this quite well--sufficient variety as is.
Flight: Just the Dragonfly and the Overlord. Both fill their roles alright, though the Overlord model looks like a transport and the Dragonfly model is out of scale.

So, overall, I'd say they need a Recon/Attack model like the Banshee or Stiletto, for non-Dragonfly Recon sections. Another hover tank would be great--basically a Recon Chieftain, maybe with some sort of twist to it. Recon sections are the only times I've had to look outside of RMI/B-S models (Recon also, but that was before the Wasp--sometimes the Recluse is overkill).

I picked up a falcon and a couple of Warlords... How well do these integrate into an ADon army? I think the falcon is more of the ranged thing... Like adon...
but I haven't played them yet

The falcon is actually a bit short ranged--none of the Adonese models have a range under 28" (machine guns excluded), while the Falcon's main guns are 24". It's also a bit slow relative to most of the limited attack CAVs. I'd make sure to pair it up with other short-ranged models, like the Chancellor or Scorpion. The Warlord is quite a good fit, it's basically an open market cross of the Chancellor and Mantis.

I'm not sure that the Dragonfly is out of scale. It came out at the point where Reaper was releasing every other model in scale; remember that it is only a small recon craft, so its not going to be as huge as the Tsuiseki or any of the transports. From what I remember of it, the Dragonfly was the first of the N-Scale gunships.

Even though the Mantis is by far one of my favorite CAVs from the asthetics point of view, I dont play Adon as much as some of the others so my opinion is limited. But, one of the main reasons I dont play Adon as much is that the average DV for them is much lower than the others. Yes, their range is longe, but that low DV just makes me wince.

So, in my opinion is they need a couple of CAVs with some defense / staying armor.

It's called 2x ECM Bubble and the only 4 TC Model in the game. They are the electronics faction, afterall. :poke:

Actually their armor is on par with the Rach who don't have the cool range to offset the lower DV's.

The Dragonfly is actually in scale. You just have to see the cockpit design to fully understand it. The pilot is not sitting down like a traditional aircraft. Its a single seater and his seat looks more like a speed bike. He flies the aircraft almost laying prone. The aircraft it self is nothing more then a ridged skin ultralight. Its a cool aircraft but you've got to be nuts to fly it into a warzone.
