And yes, I used the following two reference photos from Wikimedia:
Historical tartan of Clan MacGregor (for freehand on the kilt)
Clan MacGregor plate illustration, 1845 (for clothing colors)
The figure is sculpted to resemble Liam Neeson's film character, but I painted him like the historical person.

Finally the skin. Very good use of color.

Larger scale models can be a bit challenging... Aye, but ye've dunn a fine joob with this one Lassie. A fine joob indeed...

And Stern Kestrelmann, you are right! You would think the larger scale would be easier, but I've been painting 28mm for so long that this one gave me all sorts of unanticipated problems. I'm glad to be finished with him, to tell the truth!
And yes, joshuaslater, Tim Roth was the ultimate villain's villain!
